Stephen King has decided to weigh in on the ongoing feud between Jimmy Kimmel and the First Family.
In the wake of the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday, April 25, which saw a gunman allegedly attempt to assassinate members of President Donald Trump’s administration in attendance, First Lady Melania Trump called on ABC to fire the late-night host, 58, over a joke Kimmel made two days prior to the incident about her having the “glow of an expectant widow.”
On Monday, April 27, King, 78, took to his X account to share his thoughts on the matter.
“Melania Trump says Jimmy Kimmel should be canceled. Last week, her husband commented on Robert Mueller’s death: ‘Good. I”m glad he’s dead,’” King wrote. “Said Pretty much the same about my old friend Rob Reiner. People who live in glass houses should’t throw sh**.”

The It author was referring to when Donald posted on his Truth Social site on Saturday, March 21, that he was “glad” Mueller — who led an investigation into the president — was “dead.” He also accused Mueller, who died March 20 at age 81, of hurting innocent people.
The Apprentice alum also blamed Reiner’s death on “Trump Derangement Syndrome” in a separate post on his Truth Social site after the director and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were murdered at their home in December 2025. At the time, the president received widespread criticism for the remarks as people deemed them inappropriate.
King, who has been an outspoken critic of the president and his administration, followed up his post hours later by writing that “there’s less than 100 days in Trump’s term.”
