President Donald Trump said he doesn’t know exactly what his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, is doing when it comes to her work in the White House.
During the end of the 79-year-old’s remarks at the Congressional Ball on Thursday, December 11, the Apprentice alum introduced Melania, 55, who began to speak about the “greatest triumph” in her office this year: the Take It Down Act.
“I appreciate all of your support,” she began. “I appreciate your overwhelmingly bipartisan support across the House and the Senate.”
“I hope you will be excited to support my new legislative initiative in 2026,” she continued. “Some of you already know about it because it’s already in the works.”

After Melania thanked the crowd and wished them a happy holiday, Trump returned to the microphone and said, “Well, I just heard about that for the first time. The only thing I can tell you — I know one thing for sure, Mr. Speaker [Mike Johnson] — it’s going to be great for children.”
“I don’t know what it is she’s doing,” he admitted, “but I know it’s going to be great for children because she loves children, and she’s got a wonderful boy, and she’s very proud of him, her boy.”
The couple shares 19-year-old son Barron Trump, who is in his sophomore year at New York University.
“But she loves children,” the president continued, “and if she puts it out, it’ll be maybe unanimous again — or whatever that was, but very close, unanimous again.”

The Take It Down Act — which deals with addressing non-consensual NSFW photos (commonly called “revenge porn”) or deepfakes posted online — was signed into law by President Trump on May 19.
Melania did not specify what her new initiative is.
As Trump concluded his remarks at the Congressional Ball, he wished everyone “a great Christmas, a great Hanukkah and a fantastic year.”
“We’re going to have a great three years, four years… 10 years,” he added, alluding to his hopes for an unconstitutional third term. “We’re going to make it great!”
