Jimmy Fallon threw some major shade at President Donald Trump and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump.
During the late-night TV host’s opening monologue on the Wednesday, December 3, broadcast of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Fallon discussed the ongoing construction happening at the White House for the addition of the White House State Ballroom.
“President Trump has been focused on building his new ballroom, and he just said that Melania is upset over all the construction noise,” the 51-year-old began. “It must be really loud because she lives 200 miles away.”
As the crowd laughed, Fallon hit the Trumps with another joke.
“Melania is so mad about the construction she stopped speaking to Trump nine years ago,” he said, adding that the 79-year-old president “rarely hears the noise” because “half his day is spent in a tanning bed, the other half is in an MRI, so he doesn’t know what’s happening.”
Fallon then poked fun at how Trump appeared to doze off during a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, saying, “The construction noise is brutal, but it’s the only thing keeping Trump awake.”
As work continues on the ballroom — which the White House has deemed “a much-needed and exquisite addition” — CNN reported on Thursday, December 4, that Trump has hired a new architect for the project.

Several sources told the news organization that McCrery Architects and its CEO would no longer be involved after clashing with the Apprentice alum over details such as the size of the ballroom.
White House officials reportedly denied that CEO James McCrery was fired and said he will work as a consultant. Shalom Baranes Associates will take over.
“As we begin to transition into the next stage of development on the White House Ballroom, the Administration is excited to share that the highly talented Shalom Baranes has joined the team of experts to carry out President Trump’s vision on building what will be the greatest addition to the White House since the Oval Office — the White House Ballroom,” White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told CNN in a statement.
“Shalom is an accomplished architect whose work has shaped the architectural identity of our nation’s capital for decades and his experience will be a great asset to the completion of this project,” Ingle added.
