Freida Parton is walking back her alarming plea for prayers after sparking concern over her famous big sister, Dolly Parton’s health.
On October 7 — mere hours after Freida revealed on Facebook that she had been “up all night praying” for Dolly — she posted another update to clarify the situation.
“I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly,” Freida, 67, wrote. “She’s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer.”
Freida added: “It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference.”

The prayer request arrived one week after the country music legend, 79, took to Instagram to tell fans she postponed her six-show Dolly: Live in Las Vegas residency due to “health challenges.”
Fans will also recall that last month, Dolly missed an unveiling of a new ride at Dollywood while recovering from a kidney stone.
As the National Enquirer has reported, the singer’s famous friends have been checking in on Dolly during her downtime.
“Dolly’s been a rock for the likes of Reba [McEntire], Kelly [Clarkson] and so many others, and they want to be there for Dolly, too,” a source explained
“They’re checking in, sending care packages and notes and telling her they’re here to help and anything she needs, whether it be a hug or a talk.”
The music icon has faced a difficult year following the March death of her beloved husband, Carl Dean, at the age of 82.
