Comedy Writer Reveals the Shady Melania Trump Joke That Wasn’t Included in ‘The Roast of Kevin Hart’

A shady joke about Melania Trump reportedly didn’t make the final cut for Netflix’s The Roast of Kevin Hart.

According to Variety, one of the jokes removed from the comedy special took aim at Kill Tony host Tony Hinchcliffe by comparing him to the first lady.

“Tony is like Melania: The only thing relevant about him is that he opened for Trump once,” the unreleased punchline read, according to comedy writer Madison Sinclair, per the report.

The star-studded roast — which aired Sunday, May 10 on Netflix — was hosted by comedian Shane Gillis and featured appearances from Pete Davidson, Chelsea Handler, Regina Hall and Draymond Green.

Netflix has not publicly commented, per Variety, on why the Melania joke was ultimately cut from the roast, but perhaps it was a prudent choice.

The controversy comes as President Donald Trump and Melania, 56, have publicly criticized late-night host Jimmy Kimmel over remarks he recently made about the first lady.

As National Enquirer previously reported, during a parody monologue a few days before the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Kimmel joked that Melania had the glow of an “expectant widow” — a comment that sparked outrage from Trump supporters like Erika Kirk.

In response, on April 27, the first lady took to X to blast Kimmel, calling him a “coward,” adding that “people like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate.”

Hours later, the president, 79, blasted the ABC host on Truth Social, calling Kimmel “in no way funny” and demanding he be fired.
