Michael Ovitz has no interest in discussing his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

On Monday, June 1, the co-founder of Creative Artists Agency, 79, sat down for a deposition at his attorney’s office in New York as he was subpoenaed by English actress Julia Ormond, according to Variety.

The outlet explained that Ormond, 61, is suing CAA as she alleges they were aware of Harvey Weinstein‘s sexual misconduct but still had her go to a dinner meeting with him in December 1995. Ormond claims Weinstein, 74, sexually assaulted her that night. Ovitz had already left the company at that time.

“I’m not going to discuss anything about Jeffrey Epstein,” the former talent agent said at one point during the deposition, per Variety. “You can ask all the questions you want — you’re going to get no answers.”

However, Ormond’s lawyer, Kevin Mintzer, asked Ovitz if he was “friendly” with Epstein, and Ovitz first said “no,” but then wondered, “What’s your definition of ‘friendly’?” He admitted he had once been to Epstein’s home “for 20 minutes at the recommendation of the JP Morgan Bank.”

Mintzer also asked if Ovitz had seen Epstein in St. Barts to which he questioned, “What does this got to do with Harvey Weinstein?”

As Mintzer tried to ask Ovitz if he knew that Epstein was a convicted sex offender, the businessman walked out less than an hour into a three-hour deposition, Variety reported.

“I’m done with this,” Ovitz reportedly declared as he proceeded to take off his microphone, slam the door, and walk out of the building.

CAA attorneys objected that they were not warned about any questions regarding Epstein at the deposition. Meanwhile, Ormond’s legal team is seeking to have Ovitz held in contempt and arrested so that he can finish the deposition.

As for Weinstein, Ovitz said in the deposition that he didn’t know about sexual misconduct allegations against the disgraced film producer until they became public in 2017, and that he did not get along with him.

“He was a bully and — and he and I got into it multiple times,” Ovitz recalled. “I talked to him as little as possible.”
