A Tennessee man is facing charges after a woman’s body was found inside a burning refrigerator last week, authorities said.
On July 31, deputies with the Overton County Sheriffs Department discovered a woman’s body inside a burning refrigerator on Sunk Cane Road in Crawford. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said its special agents joined the investigation that day at the request of 13th Judicial District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway.
Investigators identified the victim as 47-year-old Hope Parrott. Further investigation revealed Parrot’s boyfriend, 49-year-old Edward Randolph, allegedly killed her and transported her body inside a refrigerator to Sunk Cane Road, then set the refrigerator on fire.
Warrants were issued Wednesday night and Randolph was arrested and booked into the Overton County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse. He was being held on a $50 million bond.
State authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
