Billy Ray Cyrus Scores Legal Win Against ‘Delusional’ Woman Claiming to Be Miley Cyrus’ Birth Mother

Billy Ray Cyrus recently had a legal victory against a woman who made some wild accusations against him and his ex-wife, Tish Cyrus. 

According to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, an Arizona woman named Jayme Lee filed a complaint in May in Tennessee, alleging she gave birth to Miley Cyrus at 12 years old and that she had a “private adoption agreement” with the 64-year-old “Achy Breaky Heart” hitmaker and Tish, 58.

According to the complaint obtained by the outlet, Lee, now 45, claimed Billy Ray “wrongfully assumed the role” of the 33-year-old former Disney Channel star’s father without Lee’s approval and “misrepresented the circumstances” of the alleged adoption, resulting in “severe emotional distress.”

In June, Lee, 45, made an amended complaint against Billy Ray and Tish of “child abuse and endangerment” for making Miley a “public figure” and “knowingly placing her in the spotlight,” per the Daily Mail. 

After Lee sent a court summons to Billy Ray in November, he responded that month with a motion to dismiss all of her claims, labeling her allegations as “delusional” and “false and absurd.” Billy Ray further noted the allegations were “clearly brought for the purposes of harassing” him and his family, “and needlessly wasting this Court’s time and resources.”

According to the Daily Mail, on Monday, December 1, Billy Ray also responded to Lee’s amended complaint, “stating he was never served with the motion filed by Lee to amend the complaint and he had only recently become aware of the lawsuit.”

On Friday, December 5, Billy Ray’s attorney, Chase LanCarte, told the Daily Mail that the Davidson County Circuit Court had thrown out Lee’s lawsuit.

“The Court dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice this morning and awarded Mr Cyrus the recovery of his reasonable and necessary attorney’s fees and costs,” LaCarte told the publication.

Besides Miley, Billy Ray and Tish share kids Braison, 31, and Noah, 25. Billy Ray also adopted Tish’s children, Brandi, 38, and Trace, 36, from her first marriage to Baxter Neal Helson. He also has son Christopher Cody, 33, with ex Kristin Luckey.
