Woman Famously Known as ‘Baby Jessica,’ Now 40, Arrested After Domestic Incident in Texas

Jessica McClure Morales — known to millions as “Baby Jessica” — has been arrested following a reported domestic dispute.

Per People, the 40-year-old was taken into custody on April 12 after authorities responded to an incident at her home in Midland County, Texas. She was charged with assault causing bodily injury involving family violence and later released after posting bond.

Details surrounding the incident remain limited, and an official arrest affidavit has not yet been released.

Morales became a household name in 1987 when, at just 18 months old, she fell 22 feet into a well in her aunt’s backyard. The dramatic rescue — which took nearly 60 hours — captivated the nation and made global headlines.

In the decades since, Morales has largely stayed out of the spotlight, living a quiet life in Texas with her husband and family.

Reflecting on her survival years later, she told People in a 2017 interview, “In a way I guess it happened the way it was supposed to. I was picked on because of it, but most people are kind and think what happened is an amazing miracle. It is. I don’t believe that any of it would’ve happened without God.”
