A woman who claimed to work as a counselor at a booze and drug rehab center was busted for trying to smuggle a stolen bottle of wine into jail by hiding it in her — ahem — lady parts.

The bizarre incident unfolded after 48-year-old Monique Megchiani swiped a bottle of vino off a shelf at a Traverse City, Mich., CVS on May 9 and slipped into the restroom, where she guzzled it down, say cops.

She was rushed to a medical center for “high intoxication,” but upon release, returned to the store, where she’d been banned, the following day.

Cops were called and arrested Megchiani at the check-out, charging her with “trespassing.” She was cuffed and checked for weapons, but officers were unaware she allegedly was carrying another stolen bottle of Cupcake Pinot Grigio “on her person” where it couldn’t be seen.

A standard bottle of wine is about a foot long, three inches in diameter at its base and weighs 2 ½ pounds. That explains why she told cops “she was not able to get into” their vehicle.

Finally, after some convincing, “Megchiani was able to slowly maneuver herself into the backseat,” cops said, according to Daily Star.

But while being booked into the jail, her difficulty in getting into the backseat of the car became clear when a female deputy found she’d hidden a “stolen, unopened bottle of Cupcake Vineyards Pinot Grigio inside her vagina.”

The “still intact” screw-top bottle “was removed,” cops furthered, and “destroyed, due to biohazard concerns.”

Megchiani was charged with attempting to smuggle contraband into a penal institution and jailed on a $6,000 bond. She pleaded not guilty.

She also faces a probation violation linked to a retail fraud conviction last year and has past convictions for unarmed robbery and credit card theft, according to The Smoking Gun.

Her LinkedIn profile says she worked as an associate counselor at a treatment center helping clients “through the critical stages of detox from illicit drugs and alcohol abuse.”
