During John F. Kennedy Jr.’s brief time linked to legendary singer Madonna, he allegedly asked her for a big favor.
According to a Tuesday, March 17, report in the Daily Mail, the son of former U.S. president John F. Kennedy “had this idea of having Madonna pose on the cover [of his magazine George] as his mom,” said his former personal assistant RoseMarie Terenzio.
Terenzio said that the hope was for the “Material Girl” singer, now 67, to resemble former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy — who died on May 19, 1994, at 64 years old — by dressing Madonna “in a suit [and Kennedy’s] signature sunglasses.”
Terenzio added that the image would also include “a pillbox hat sitting on a stack of books.”
According to the Mail, the Queen of Pop turned down JFK Jr. in a fax message that allegedly said, “Dear Johnny boy, Thanks for asking me to be your mother, but I’m afraid, I could never do her justice. My eyebrows aren’t thick enough for one.”
“When you want me to portray Eva Braun [Adolf Hitler’s wife] or [socialite and politician] Pamela Harriman I might say yes!” she reportedly added. “Hope you’re well. Love, Madonna.”
Author Christopher Andersen, who has written books on both JFK Jr. and Madonna, said that the George founder was “dazzled by the notion of dating Madonna, the most glamorous, celebrated and, by all accounts, exciting woman of her generations.”
While nothing was ever serious between the two, there are many reports of JFK Jr. and Madonna briefly seeing each other.

According to People, one of JFK Jr.’s friends called it a “flirtation,” adding: “When other people referred to her as M around that time, just by her first initial, he would say, ‘I started that.’ He called her M when he wrote or faxed her. There were no cell phones then and he was always very territorial that he started that moniker for her.”
“The flirtation kind of continued and they would try to get together but it was hard because she was on tour and he was working,” JFK’s friend added, per People. “They saw each other a few times and they had a flirty and friendly banter but it wasn’t a ‘relationship.’”
JFK Jr.’s previous relationships are mentioned in Ryan Murphy’s FX series Love Story, which explores his marriage to Carolyn Bessette before the two tragically died in a plane crash in 1999.
