Vanity Fair is apparently being very strategic in their journalistic endeavors.
The publication, which famously hosts a star-studded party following the Academy Awards, is reportedly putting together their guest list for the highly anticipated Sunday, March 15, event.
Sources told journalist Rob Shuter for a Thursday, February 12, post on his Naughty But Nice Substack that Susie Wiles, JD Vance, Marco Rubio, Karoline Leavitt, Stephen Miller, Dan Scavino and James Blair will be among this year’s invitees following their splashy profile in the magazine.
According to one of Shuter’s sources, “This wasn’t a drive-by profile. It was a deep, strategic courtship.”
One of the Naughty But Nice sources claimed that the publication wants “access,” adding: “And ultimately, they want Melania Trump.”

Last year, there were reports that the publication hoped for a cover story featuring the first lady, 55, after Mark Guiducci took over as the magazine’s global editorial director in June 2025.
While rumors that the 79-year-old president’s wife may grace the magazine never came to fruition, a source told Shuter the alleged Oscars party invites are “about rebuilding bridges.”
As to whether or not the politicians will mix and mingle with Hollywood’s elite after this year’s Academy Awards, a source predicted, “Some will. Others may prefer to stay off-camera.”
Last summer, following the rumors that Guiducci was tossing around the idea of having the first lady on a Vanity Fair cover, sources told Page Six that Melania wasn’t even interested.
“She doesn’t have time to be sitting in a photo shoot,” a source told the outlet in August. “Her priorities as First Lady are far more important… These people don’t deserve her anyway.”
