Jonny Greenwood, who was nominated for a Best Original Score Oscar for his work on Phantom Thread, wants music that he penned for the 2017 film removed from the Melania Trump documentary.
The Radiohead guitarist and film composer, 54, along with Phantom Thread director Paul Thomas Anderson, told Variety in a statement on Monday, February 9, that they’ve reached out to the team behind Melania.
“It has come to our attention that a piece of music from Phantom Thread has been used in the ‘Melania’ documentary,” the pair said in a statement, via Greenwood’s rep.
“While Jonny Greenwood does not own the copyright in the score, Universal failed to consult Jonny on this third-party use which is a breach of his composer agreement,” the statement added. “As a result Jonny and Paul Thomas Anderson have asked for it to be removed from the documentary.”
