Scott Kirby may have caused some turbulence in the offices of United Airlines.
The CEO of United Airlines is facing a social media frenzy after he was photographed flying with rival American Airlines after having publicly criticized the carrier.
The betrayal at 10,000 feet went viral after flight attendant Kristine Tiley took a photo with her former boss.
Referring to Kirby — who moved from American Airlines to go to United in 2016 — Tiley wrote on Facebook, “LOOK WHO I HAD IN my first class today from sfo. What a great guy.”
“Just as nice as he was back in the day He misses us lol. And tells everyone Hi,” she added.

According to New York Post, the Facebook post caused shock and disbelief as it came after 58-year-old Kirby had been pushing for a merger of the two airlines, per Reuters.
He has also been critical of them in the past, claiming his old firm were losing hundreds of millions each year at Chicago O’Hare airport.
Kirby suggested they should abandon the location and earlier this year, told the Airline Confidential podcast, “I would not want to play the other hand at cards; I know when to hold them and I know when to fold them.”
Kirby can likely still enjoy benefits from American Airlines after serving as president from 2013 to 2016. However, since then, the executive has repeatedly criticized his former employer’s business strategy in public comments and investor discussions.
