Team USA’s gold-winning women’s hockey team has opted for a different kind of celebration — and it’s coming from Flavor Flav.
The rapper, 66 — who has been a longtime supporter of U.S. athletes — appeared to announce on Instagram that the team “accepted [his] invitation to celebrate in Las Vegas” after they turned down President Donald Trump’s request to attend his State of the Union address on Tuesday, February 24.
As National Enquirer previously reported, their decision follows several days of attention after the men’s team received a Sunday, February 22, congratulatory phone call from President Trump and an immediate White House invitation.
During that call, Trump, 79, said, “I must tell you, we’re going to have to bring the women’s team. You do know that. I do believe I probably would be impeached [if they weren’t invited].”

The women’s team declined the official offer by citing academic and professional commitments, with a spokesperson saying in a statement to The Associated Press. “They were honored to be included and are grateful for the acknowledgment.”
That led Flavor Flav to step in with his own pitch on February 23, writing on X, “If the USA Women’s Hockey team wants a real celebration and invite … I’ll host them in Las Vegas. Do some nice dinners and shows and good times. I’m sure I can get a hotel and airline to help me out here and celebrate these women for real for real.”
It wasn’t long before Alaska Airlines and StubHub chimed in and offered freebies to Flavor Flav — who also teased he may “invite his Bobsled + Skeleton team too.”
