The 57-year-old mogul made the admission during a Monday, September 14, sit-down on The Jennifer Hudson Show, when host Jennifer Hudson asked point-blank whether wedding bells were ever in his future.
Perry’s answer? A flat “no.”
“It’s not the marriage that bothers me; it’s the divorce,” the filmmaker told Hudson, 45. “Everybody that I know that did well and went broke, it was because of a divorce. So I’m good just being free.”
When Hudson jokingly offered to sing at his future wedding, Perry responded by reciting lyrics.
“‘You’re no good, heartbreaker. You’re a liar. You’re a cheat. I don’t know why I let you do these things to me,'” he said, reciting lyrics to Aretha Franklin‘s song, “I Never Loved a Man (the Way I Love You).”
He added, “That’s what I think about.”

The confirmed bachelor is currently on the promo trail for the Netflix film Why Did I Get Married Again?, the third installment in his hit marriage-themed franchise — a movie he wrote, directed, and starred in.
“When I wrote the first one, I thought, ‘You know, marriage might be a good idea at some point,'” he told Justin Sylvester during the segment. “But at this age, that’s not a good idea for me. So, no, there won’t be any marriage for me.”
Perry even joked to Sylvester, 39, that his own films talked him out of it — claiming he scared himself straight out of marriage just by watching his own movie play out on screen.
