Dana Eden, an Israeli producer working on the spy thriller series Tehran in Greece, was found dead on Sunday, February 15. She was 52.
According to Reuters, Greek authorities said that Eden was discovered in a hotel room in Athens and that an investigation is underway.
Police officials told the news organization that Eden’s death is being treated as a suicide based on evidence and testimonies. Pills were reportedly found at the scene, and Reuters reported that a coroner found bruises on her neck.

“This is a moment of great sorrow for the family, friends, and colleagues,” production company Donna and Shula Productions said in a statement, per Reuters. “The production company wishes to clarify that rumors regarding a criminal or nationalistic-related death are not true and are unfounded.”
The Times of Israel, citing Hebrew media, said Eden was found by her brother, who began to look for her after she didn’t respond to messages.
“We mourn the passing of our colleague and partner in a long line of productions, series, and programs at the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation — Dana Eden,” Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation said in a statement, per Times of Israel.

“Dana was among the senior figures in Israel’s television industry and played a central role in creating and leading some of the corporation’s most prominent and influential productions,” the statement added. “Her professional and personal legacy will continue to shape Israeli television for many years to come.”
The Times of Israel said that the statement also explained how Eden traveled to Greece to oversee filming of the fourth season of Tehran, which streams on Apple TV.
