Sources tell Straight Shuter that Tom Hanks’ long-awaited stage project This World of Tomorrow is struggling to sell seats — despite sky-high buzz and costar Kelli O’Hara’s Broadway pedigree.

Even $45 youth tickets haven’t moved the needle. “It’s an ambitious play in the wrong price bracket,” explains a Broadway veteran. “Audiences are saying thanks, but no thanks,” which could mean Hanks is facing a rare flop.
“He’s one of Hollywood’s nicest guys,” sighs a theater insider, “but kindness doesn’t fill seats.”
