Tiger King star Joe Exotic wants to help everyone have a happy holiday season, so the convicted felon is offering personal phone calls to fans as a Christmas gift.
“Help a broke man out. Remember I didn’t get a dime from Netflix,” Exotic, 62 — whose real name is Joseph Allen Maldonado — captioned a photo of himself wearing a Santa hat on Instagram. “They stole my footage from YouTube and my computer after they had me kidnapped by the corrupt system. This makes 8 Christmas’s wrongfully detained in America.”
He added that those who were interested could send him a direct message for details.
Exotic didn’t list the price of the phone calls, but fans were lining up in the comments to tell him that this offer was definitely going on their Christmas lists.
“I already hav [sic] a JPay account let’s goo,” one person wrote, referencing the system used in prisons to send money to inmates.
Another person added, “I’m so interested! Can this be done on international calls?”

Exotic is in federal prison for a mix of murder for hire and wildlife crimes. Prosecutors said he tried to hire two different men to kill Carole Baskin, one of whom was an undercover FBI agent.
He was also convicted of violating the Endangered Species Act for killing several tigers and for illegally breeding, selling, and falsifying records for big cats. Those charges led to a 22-year federal sentence, which was later reduced but still active.
Exotic pleaded not guilty to all charges, and despite repeatedly asking President Donald Trump for a pardon, he’s not expected to be released from prison until 2036.
