The ladies of The Viewreacted to a video of Secretary of State Marco Rubio getting defensive during a congressional hearing when Rep Ted Lieu, D-California, brought up video clips of President Donald Trump falling asleep during meetings.
Lieu began his time questioning Rubio by showing a clip from last December that appears to show Trump’s eyes getting heavy and his head dipping down during a cabinet meeting next to Rubio, who is discussing matters of state. He then asks the Secretary if he’s been in more than one meeting where Trump has fallen asleep.
“That’s false, that’s false,” Rubio said in a video shared by PBS News. “I’ve never seen him fall asleep. On the contrary, the guy doesn’t sleep, which is a big problem because he calls me at two in the morning, he calls me at five in the morning, and you know, I like to sleep a little bit, maybe not 12 hours, but at least 6. The other day he was at the Oval Office and until… 12:30 a.m. I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Secretary Rubio, I’m going to show you, in a moment, a video that shows you just lied to Congress,” Lieu responded.
He then shared multiple videos of the president falling asleep in meetings and events, contradicting himself in interviews and being mocked by foreign news outlets for his alleged cognitive decline.
Ana Navarroagreed, saying, “We’ve all seen it. Eyes don’t lie.”
Sara Haines criticized Lieu for not asking “pressing questions” in favor of a sensational moment.
“I do think that the condition and health of the President of the United States is important,” Sara Haines interjected. “We know that he’s sending out those Truth Social things at five in the morning, two in the morning, three in the morning. So, the man is clearly not sleeping; he’s up all night, he’s sleeping when he should be working, that concerns me. We don’t know if the president is well.”
“The more he sleeps, the safer I feel,” Navarro added sarcastically.
In the video, Lieu concludes his point by alleging Rubio is lying about the president’s condition and demanding he exhibit transparency.
“Secretary Rubio, instead of holding North Korean-style cabinet meetings where everyone goes around the room kissing Donald Trump’s [expletive]. I’m going to ask you to come clean with the American people and the White House as well,” he said. “There’s something wrong with Donald Trump’s health or cognitive abilities. There’s a reason he keeps going to the hospital and they keep giving him cognitive tests. We have not seen the president in 8 days. The American people deserve the truth.”
