The View’s Joy Behar raised eyebrows after stepping away from the table during a high-profile interview with Carrie Underwood.
During the Tuesday, March 24, episode of the talk show, Behar, 83, was noticeably absent when Underwood, 42, joined fellow American Idol judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan at the Hot Topics table.
According to EW, Behar had appeared earlier in the broadcast but exited before the segment.
The move comes more than a year after Behar publicly criticized Underwood’s decision to perform at President Donald Trump’s inauguration, sparking backlash.

At the time, former cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck slammed Behar on social media, defending Underwood, 42, and calling her “an incredible woman.”
Despite the optics, the absence may not have been personal. A source told EW the switch was a “production decision” to accommodate multiple guests at the table. Sara Haines also vacated her seat to make room, per the outlet.
Still, Behar’s exit didn’t go unnoticed. She later returned to the show, with moderator Whoopi Goldberg noting she would appear on the companion podcast.
Intentional or not, the moment reignited chatter about the lingering tension surrounding Underwood’s controversial performance.
“She should defend her rude comments about Carrie instead of running away,” one View fan wrote on X.
