Thanksgiving travelers are favoring beachside escapes and vibrant city stays this year, according to the latest data from Hilton.

The hotel chain analyzed Hilton.com search data for extended Thanksgiving getaways between Nov. 26–30, 2025, and found a mix of tropical retreats and urban adventures leading the pack.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, emerged as the top trending destination search, with “trending” defined as seeing the biggest increase in searches for U.S. travelers over the last 90 days. Seattle, Chicago, Costa Rica, and Anaheim, Calif., round out the top five trending Thanksgiving destinations this year, reflecting a surge in interest among U.S. travelers planning longer, more indulgent holiday breaks.

In Punta Cana, guests can experience a feast of their own at Zemi Miches Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton, where over 10 dining venues, four pools, and private plunge suites await beneath the Caribbean sun. Meanwhile, city explorers are setting their sights on Hilton Motif Seattle, within walking distance of Pike Place Market and the Space Needle, or the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile, offering roomy suites and skyline views just steps from Navy Pier and the Riverwalk.

Those staying closer to home are gravitating toward Hilton Anaheim, freshly renovated and within reach of Disneylands Thanksgiving festivities.

When it comes to overall popularity, Hawaii reigns supreme, followed by New York City, Cancun, Orlando, and Las Vegas.

In Maui, Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort blends Hawaiian flavors and traditional holiday fare with its Thanksgiving brunch and prix-fixe dinner.
