Billy Ray Cyrus has been going all out to impress new girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley as their budding romance blossoms, but a source exclusively spills to the National Enquirer that he isn’t happy about how close she is with some of her exes – particularly Hugh Grant.
“Billy Ray doesn’t get it and he doesn’t like it,” the source reveals. “He’s not friends with any of his exes and doesn’t see why Liz is.”
While the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer, 63, isn’t saying that she “needs to be enemies” or “never speak” to them again, it still “really bothers him” that she still texts Grant, 64, and asks him for advice.

Hurley, 60, dated the Love Actually actor for 13 years before their 2000 split. At the time, she released a statement that said while they were “no longer a couple” they were still “great friends and talk all the time” – something that appears to have continued over the last 25 years.
“[Billy Ray] thinks he ought to be the only man she confides in,” adds the source. “He’s an old-school guy and gets very territorial, and now that talk of marriage has come up between him and Liz, he’s even more fixated on this.”
The source says the country artist “wants to feel like he’s the number one man in her life” and has been “throwing little tantrums” and causing “serious tension” between them.
As for Hurley, she “doesn’t like being told what to do,” and wants to be “allowed to have whatever friends she wants,” so this whole situation has “got her back up big time,” the source concludes.

As the National Enquirer previously reported, Cyrus and Hurley began their whirlwind romance earlier this year, going Instagram official by sharing a photo of them kissing on Easter Sunday.
“I think people found Billy and I being together a little surprising,” she admitted to Page Six at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Hot Pink Party in May. “It’s not surprising to me because we’re actually quite similar and get on extremely well … We both like to laugh a lot, and we both love the country. And we both love country music, both love movies. We’ve got a lot in common.”
