New details have emerged about the disappearance of Today show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie.

On Sunday February 1, Nancy was reported missing from her home in Arizona. The Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos referred to her residence as a “crime scene” in a press conference and confirmed that authorities believe she did not leave on her own.

According to People, the Nanos revealed that a friend of Nancy’s contacted one of her family after realizing that the 84-year-old wasn’t at service that day.

One of Nancy’s adult children immediately went to check the home, where Nanos says they “did some searching and realized, ‘We need some help,’ and they called 911.”

As the National Enquirer previously reported, Nanos said that Nancy is of “sound mind” and has “no cognitive issues.” However, she’s “not in good physical health.” Per TMZ, Nancy needs her daily medication. So, time is a factor in the search.

Savannah, 54, did not appear on Monday’s episode of Today, but her cohosts Sheinelle Jones and Craig Melvin covered the situation, including a statement from Savannah and her family.

“On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom,” the statement read. “We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”

Nancy is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs around 150 pounds; she has brown hair and blue eyes.

A source previously told the National Enquirer that the Today anchor is “trying to be strong but this has shattered her.”

The source noted that the mood at 30 Rock today is quite heavy. “This is personal,” the source said. “So many people here knew Savannah’s mom. [Nancy] wasn’t some abstract figure — she visited the studio, she was proud of her daughter in a way everyone could feel.”

“Staff adored her. She talked about Savannah nonstop. She was her biggest cheerleader, always beaming about how far her daughter had come,” the source continued. “That’s why this is hitting so hard. People aren’t just worried for Savannah — they’re scared for someone they actually knew and loved.”
