Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson has reached out to offer old pal Tiger Woods her support in the wake of his shocking DUI arrest, a source tells the National Enquirer.
The disgraced royal, 66, attempted date the professional golfer, 50, after separating from ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten Windsor in 1992, according to an extract from Andrew Lownie’s new book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, published by the Daily Mail.
Woods, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, “was never interested in anything romantic with her,” the source reveals, “so she settled on a friendship and never really let that admiration go.”
Fergie was photographed cheering on the PGA champ at the 1997 Byron Nelson tournament in Texas, per The Telegraph, and publicly congratulated her “amazing friend” on his 2019 Masters win on Instagram.
“She always thought there was something special there and has kept tabs on him over the years,” says the Enquirer’s source. “Hearing about his latest troubles stirred all of that up again and she felt compelled to reach out right away.”

Fergie has been checking in on Woods every day since, adds the source.
“She knows how awful it is to deal with this kind of public scorn and says that makes her the perfect person to help him right now,” the source explains. “She genuinely does want to help but there’s no doubt she’s got dollar signs in her eyes too.”
As the Enquirerpreviously reported, the former Duchess of York lost her cherished royal title, social standing and lucrative business opportunities due to her and Andrew’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Fergie — who denies any wrongdoing, consistently maintains her innocence and previously stated via a representative that she was “taken in” by Epstein’s “lies” — is “absolutely desperate for a serious loan right now and most people have shunned her,” admits the source. “Tiger is rolling in dough, so her hope is that he’ll take some pity on her and give her a cash infusion.”
