Telling all!
Former New York Magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi seemingly takes readers inside her alleged sexting affair with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in her salacious upcoming memoir, American Canto.
Though she never mentions him by name in the book, the 32-year-old journalist reveals, per the New York Times, that she became romantically entangled with an unnamed politician after writing about him in an article published in November 2023 — which is precisely when her piece, The Mind-Bending Politics of RFK Jr.’s Spoiler Campaign, came out.
The outlet notes that readers will deduce that the man is Kennedy.

The pair texted and spoke over the phone and before long, Nuzzi — who was engaged to political writer Ryan Lizza at the time — found herself falling for the man believed to be Kennedy Jr., 71, who has been married to Curb Your Enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines since 2014.
Nuzzi loved his “blue as the flame” eyes, she writes, how “the sight of something as trivial as a rose” could bring him to tears. She also loved his insatiable desires, the New York Times reports, and his “particular darkness.”
The journalist didn’t tell the politician that she loved him, though. Not until he told her first.
According to the New York Times, Nuzzi also claims in the book that the politician said he wanted her to have his baby and promised to take a bullet for her.

In September 2024, news of Nuzzi’s alleged sexting affair with Kennedy Jr. got out, and the writer was placed on leave for not disclosing their relationship. She was ultimately fired from New York Magazine a month later.
Nuzzi alleged that her relationship with Kennedy turned “personal” after meeting during a profile interview during his 2024 presidential campaign, which he later denied.
A spokesperson for Kennedy previously stated he only met Nuzzi once, when she interviewed him during his 2024 presidential campaign.
