Gaming giant Razer and global snacking powerhouse Mars are teaming up to take their RESPAWN by Razer brand to the next level, aiming to make it the definitive snack brand for gamers worldwide.

The companies announced Monday that they are forming a joint venture to expand RESPAWNs product line beyond its initial pilot offerings. RESPAWN began as a tongue-in-cheek April Fools Day concept from Razer, but quickly evolved into a serious business when the brands mental performance drink mix and gum, created in collaboration with Mars, struck a chord with gamers. The gum, enriched with B Vitamins and green tea extract, became the first gum marketed specifically to gamers.

Now, buoyed by what both companies call “overwhelmingly positive feedback,” Razer and Mars are launching a full-fledged joint venture to build out RESPAWN as a gamer-focused snack brand. The move marks a first-of-its-kind partnership for both companies and reflects a novel approach in the food and gaming industries, where a cross-sector collaboration aims to reshape how lifestyle and performance intersect in gaming.

“RESPAWN represents a strategic evolution in the expansion of Razers mission to serve the global gaming community through bold, cross-industry innovations,” said Min-Liang Tan, Co-Founder and CEO of Razer. “Our collaboration with Mars extends our gamer-centric ecosystem into the world of snacks. RESPAWN is a platform designed to redefine how gamers fuel their play, with snacks purposefully crafted to match the energy, focus, and intensity of modern gameplay. Together, were building a category-defining brand that meets the evolving needs of millions of passionate and dynamic gamers around the world.”

Both companies say they have kept gamers deeply involved in product development to ensure that every element — from ingredients to packaging — reflects the communitys preferences. The goal is to create snacks that go beyond convenience, becoming a lifestyle essential for gamers.

“By formalizing our partnership with Razer, we are not just launching new snacks — we are unlocking an entirely new way of innovating. RESPAWN is built by gamers, for gamers. This is what it means to be truly consumer-obsessed,” said Gülen Bengi, Lead Chief Marketing Officer, Mars and Chief Growth Officer, Mars Snacking. “By focusing our snack-making expertise with Razers deep roots in gaming culture, we have co-created RESPAWN, which is a brand born from community insight, designed for specific moments and needs during gaming. It is a bold step in redefining brand building — where fans are not just the audience, they are co-creators. Together with Razer, we are excited to scale RESPAWN into the worlds most loved gaming snack brand.”

RESPAWNs current product lineup includes gum and mints in a range of bold and mellow flavors designed to suit the different rhythms of gameplay, from high-energy battles to late-night sessions. But the companies say this is just the beginning. They plan to expand RESPAWNs portfolio to include a wide array of snack options developed in collaboration with gamers to enhance every gaming moment.

RESPAWN products are already available at select retailers in the U.S. and China, with wider availability expected as the joint venture scales.
