Publicist Admits She ‘Had No Problem’ Taking Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘Money,’ Talks Ex-Prince Andrew Party

Peggy Siegal, once the most powerful publicist in New York according to New York Magazine, recalled planning a dinner party for late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and former Prince Andrew.

Before ever having met Epstein, Siegal said she received a gift and a phone call from the financier.

“I instantly knew that he collected information to use against you. I instantly knew that’s what he did,” Siegal said in a profile in New York Magazine published Wednesday, March 4. “He wanted to find out some weakness in my makeup or my life. There was a sense of danger. It was like a warning bell,” adding that she “knew from the beginning he was a creep.”

While she never represented Epstein as a publicist, more than 5,000 emails between the two were released by the Department of Justice in recent weeks.

“I had no problem taking his money. He had lots of it,” she told the outlet.

Siegal hosted a dinner party in honor of Andrew, 66, which she claimed was all a ruse to get a copy of Harvey Weinstein’s The King’s Speech in the hands of Queen Elizabeth II.

According to Siegal, Weinstein “hated Jeffrey,” but was desperately “trying to get a quote from the queen.”

“I totally jeopardized my relationship with all these important people — they did not know who [Jeffrey] was,” she told New York Magazine of her star-studded guest list. “All of Jeffrey’s illegal, immoral behavior was in Palm Beach, and he went to jail in Palm Beach, and the New York Times never wrote about him…World-famous newscasters didn’t know who Jeffrey Epstein was, and they counted on my relationship with them to invite them to an interesting evening, which I had many, many times before. They came on my say-so.”

The dinner reportedly featured guests like George Stephanopoulos, Katie Couric, Chelsea Handler and Woody Allen, who mingled with Andrew, the son of the late monarch.

“They were told that there would be no palace guards around Andrew at dinner,” Siegal said. “They could ask him anything they wanted to know about [Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton’s 2011] wedding.”

She added, “When they realized later whose house it was, they were furious at me and rightly so.”
