Keith Urban is ramping up plans to grow his personal brand and expand his ambitions into movies and TV, a source tells the National Enquirer. However, they say it’s rattling Nicole Kidman’s cage as she tries to rebuild her life from top to bottom post-divorce.

“This is the last thing Nicole ever expected out of Keith,” the source explains. “The whole time they were married, he was always so vocal about not wanting to be swallowed by Hollywood, to the point where Nicole felt judged at times for her ambition.”

Now, Kidman, 58, feels it’s “beyond hypocritical” to see the “You’ll Think of Me” singer, also 58, “suddenly taking this abrupt turn into film and television.”

“She’s so angry,” the source continues. “He wanted to end their marriage, and she’s been very dignified about it all. The least he could do is steer clear of her lane.”

The source adds that the Babygirl star doesn’t want to be “worried about bumping into him at work events,” something they say “is bound to happen if he goes through with this whim to be an actor.”

“In her view, it’s just completely disrespectful that he’d do this at all, let alone right now,” the source tells the National Enquirer. “Maybe if he waited until the dust had settled on things and they were both happily moved on, it might not strike such a nerve.”

Kidman feels slighted by Urban’s decision to test out the waters of acting considering how “condescending he was about the whole acting world” when the two were married.

“Nicole can’t help but feel pretty appalled that he’s going in this direction,” the source concludes. “Acting is her realm, as far as she’s concerned, he should stick with making music.”

The Grammy winner and Kidman first met in 2005 before officially tying the knot in 2006. During their years together they welcomed daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

News of the former couple’s split made headlines on September 29, and the following day, Kidman filed for divorce.
