Melissa Gilbert ‘Cutting’ Off Anyone ‘Who Questions Her’ Amid Timothy Busfield’s Child Sex Abuse Scandal (Exclusive)

Melissa Gilbert is betting everything she’s got on clearing husband Timothy Busfield’s name in his child sex abuse case, a source tells the National Enquirer.

The Little House On the Prairie star, 61, isn’t just helping with the legal bills, “which have gotten astronomical,” reveals the source. She’s also “putting many of her career plans on hold to be by his side” and “cutting anyone in their world who questions her or dares to suggest that she might want to take a step back and allow Timothy to fight his own battle.”

As the Enquirer previously reported, the West Wing alum, 68, has pleaded not guilty and denied all charges stemming from two alleged incidents between 2022 and 2024 involving twin boys on the set of the TV show The Cleaning Lady, which he worked on as a director and executive producer.

“This goes beyond loyalty,” says the source. “It’s like she’s totally brainwashed by the guy and God forbid how she’ll react if he doesn’t get cleared of these charges.”

Busfield won’t face trial for child sex abuse charges until May 2027, but that hasn’t stopped Gilbert from pleading his case in the court of public opinion.

“[He’s] the last person in the world who would hurt a child,” the actress declared during a recent appearance on Good Morning America.

“Melissa has made it her life mission to defend Timothy and help him through this crisis,” says the source. “It’s totally taken over her life, and not in a good way at all.”
