Millions of students across the country will tune in on April 30 for STOMP Out Bullyings 7th annual “Culture Shock” livestream, a major national effort to combat bullying and promote kindness in schools.

The event, which will be simulcast at 11 a.m. ET across ABCs top eight markets, comes at a critical time: one in five children in the U.S. experiences bullying, and nine out of ten LGBTQ+ students report facing harassment in school, according to STOMP Out Bullying, the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to bullying prevention.

Hosted by television personality Jeannie Mai, the event will feature a panel of celebrities who have faced bullying themselves. Emmy-winning actress and activist Laverne Cox, actress and humanitarian Kat Graham, actor Mark Indelicato (“HACKS,” “Ugly Betty”), and actor Drew Ray Tanner (“Riverdale”) will share their personal experiences and discuss the urgent need to shift school environments from a “culture of cruelty” to a “culture of kindness.”

“In today’s increasingly divided climate, our students need tools to bridge cultural divides now more than ever,” said Ross Ellis, CEO and founder of STOMP Out Bullying. “This event provides an urgent platform for educators and students to unite, engage in meaningful conversations, and drive immediate positive change within their communities.”

The “Culture Shock” initiative also marks the kickoff for National Culture Week (April 28–May 2), during which schools can engage with additional resources designed to foster inclusivity and respect. Schools interested in participating can register to access the livestream and educational materials.

The event is sponsored by ABC Owned Television Stations and the New York Jets, underlining their shared commitment to building safer, more supportive spaces for students nationwide.
