A Houston funeral home director is facing multiple felony charges after a November 2025 raid on her business, launched as part of a broader identity theft investigation, left investigators with a shocking discovery.

On Thursday, July 23, ABC30 reported that Unique Green, the president of A Community Funeral Home, was charged Tuesday, July 21, with five felonies, including forgery, theft and tampering with a government record.

According to charging documents obtained by the outlet, detectives discovered “a Home Depot bucket filled with organs, and 48 boxes of cremated human remains” inside the property, some belonging to families who had been waiting since 2023 to have their loved ones’ remains returned.

Court records show her legal history stretches back to 1998, including a 2007 federal conviction for defrauding FEMA using false identities after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, per ABC30.

Green has denied any wrongdoing and remains held in Harris County jail on an $800,000 bond.
