In honor of National Waffle Day on August 24, Hampton by Hilton is offering one lucky guest a chance to shape breakfast history.
The hotel brand is launching a contest to find its first-ever “Guest Waffle Boss,” who will help create a new limited-edition waffle flavor to be served at more than 2,450 Hampton by Hilton properties across the U.S. and Canada.
Beginning Aug. 22, guests and fans can submit a short video, under 60 seconds, explaining their love for the signature Hampton waffle and pitching a new flavor idea. Submissions will be accepted through Sept. 5 at hamptonwaffleflavorcontest.com. Entries must be original and will be judged for creativity, originality, and flavor appeal by a panel of “breakfast experts,” including Beverly Christmas, Hamptons reigning U.S. Waffle Boss, who won an internal employee contest last year.
“At Hampton by Hilton, waffles are more than the centerpiece of our free hot breakfast — theyre a memory in the making,” said Shruti Gandhi Buckley, senior vice president and brand leader, Hampton by Hilton. “Whether its the smell of syrup in the morning or the joy of opening that iconic Hampton waffle iron, these small rituals are a recipe for happiness.”
In addition to helping develop the next featured waffle flavor, the chosen Waffle Boss will receive a five-night stay at any Hampton by Hilton property in the world, along with 1 million Hilton Honors Points. The winning waffle will debut in 2026, joining previous limited-edition favorites like Birthday Cake, Smores, and Lemon.
The contest is open to legal residents of all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old and members of the Hilton Honors program. No purchase is necessary to enter.
Hampton by Hilton is widely recognized as the first hotel brand to popularize the self-serve Belgian waffle as part of its complimentary hot breakfast. The contest is intended not only to showcase guests’ culinary creativity, but also to extend the brands focus on what it calls “Hamptonality,” or the warm, friendly service that greets guests each morning.
“Hamptonality starts at breakfast, where our team members greet guests with our signature warm and friendly service that sets the tone of the stay,” Gandhi Buckley said. “This contest invites our guests to share in that magic and help us create the next flavor innovation that will become part of someones favorite travel moment.”
