Thursday, March 20, isn’t just the first day of spring, it’s also the International Day of Happiness, and to celebrate, global humanitarian Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and bestselling author Arthur Brooks are hosting an event at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C.

The “Unlocking Happiness” event marks a collaborative effort to delve into the convergence of ancient wisdom and contemporary science, with the aim of providing participants actionable strategies to nurture happiness in their lives. Among the highlights, Gurudev will conduct a live guided meditation featuring his noted SKY Breath Meditation technique, a practice credited with aiding millions globally.

Brooks, co-author of “Build the Life You Want”, will share insights on developing enduring joy and purpose.

“Happiness is not something you chase; it is something you cultivate from within,” Shankar says.

The Unlocking Happiness event will follow Shankar’s participation in Semafors “The State of Happiness in 2025” earlier in the day, where he will unveil key insights from the 2025 World Happiness Report in partnership with Gallup and the United Nations.

Unlocking Happiness will take place at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET. Fans can reserve their spot online.
