A Georgia man is facing charges for allegedly crashing into a fire truck and fleeing the scene, then calling investigating deputies his “bros,” officials said.

The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office said a Gordon County Fire engine was stopped in traffic at the intersection of Interstate 75 and U.S. Highway 41 at around 1 p.m. Thursday when it was struck by a passenger vehicle. After the collision, the car fled the scene while a passenger was attempting to exit the vehicle.

The suspect vehicle was spotted by a Fire officer a short time later at a nearby apartment complex, and they called law enforcement.

Deputies and Calhoun Police Department officers responded and “noticed not-so-subtle clues” including “extensive damage” to the front and rear of the vehicle, along with deployed airbags.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Jacob Alan Razo, allegedly appeared intoxicated and “consistently referred to the officers as ‘bros’,” the sheriff’s office said.

A woman told deputies she was the passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and was trying to get out of the car when he fled.

Georgia State Patrol, which led the crash investigation, charged Razo with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and other traffic offenses.
