Donald Trump Blasts Stephen Colbert as ‘Pathetic Trainwreck,’ Suggests CBS ‘Put Him to Sleep’

President Donald Trump is going after Stephen Colbert — again.

On Wednesday, December 24, the commander-in-chief, 79, took to his Truth Social platform, bashing the famed late-night host, 61.

Trump’s rant began shortly after a rerun of the December 8 episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert began airing on CBS, per People, following the Tuesday, December 23, broadcast of The Kennedy Center Honors, which the billionaire hosted.

“Stephen Colbert is a pathetic trainwreck, with no talent or anything else necessary for show business success,” the Apprentice alum wrote in one post.

“Now, after being terminated by CBS, but left out to dry, he has actually gotten worse, along with his nonexistent ratings,” he continued. “Stephen is running on hatred and fumes ~ A dead man walking! CBS should, ‘put him to sleep,’ NOW, it is the humanitarian thing to do!”

In a second post, Trump wrote, “Who has the worst Late Night host, CBS, ABC, or NBC??? They all have three things in common: High Salaries, No Talent, REALLY LOW RATINGS!”

Trump also penned a third post, which read, “If Network NEWSCASTS, and their Late Night Shows, are almost 100% Negative to President Donald J. Trump, MAGA, and the Republican Party, shouldn’t their very valuable Broadcast Licenses be terminated? I say, YES!”

As the National Enquirer previously reported, Trump has criticized Colbert — who has been a vocal critic of the president — and other late-night hosts on multiple occasions.

In July, Trump took to Truth Social to celebrate after CBS announced that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert would end in May 2026, also taking the opportunity to blast Jimmy Kimmel.

“I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings,” Trump declared. “I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.”
