Domestic Stalking Investigation Leads To Huge Cache Of Weapons, Drugs In Oregon

Authorities in Oregon said an investigation into domestic stalking and restraining order violations led to the seizure of a huge cache of firearms, ammunition and narcotics.

The Salem Police Department said that on July 6, patrol officers arrested 47-year-old Michael J. Brasi in connection with an alleged domestic stalking incident that involved multiple alleged violations of a no-contact order. While Brasi was lodged in Marion County Jail in connection to that arrest, detectives applied for and executed search warrants on July 7 at multiple locations “linked” to him.

With assistance from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), detectives located and seized 54 firearms, 8 homemade suppressors, incomplete firearm frames, firearm parts, and thousands of rounds of ammunition. Multiple firearms had been reported stolen out of other jurisdictions.

Evidence of the manufacture of “undetectable firearms” was also seized, including 3D printers, drill presses, and firearm build kits.

Detectives also seized 129 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 88.7 grams of fentanyl, 20.1 grams of cocaine, and over 150 vials of anabolic steroids, along with evidence related to the manufacture of anabolic steroids, including unused vials, custom labels, and mixing agents.

Police said Brasi remains in custody at the Marion County Jail, but charges are “pending” as the investigation remains ongoing.
