David Beckham is opening up about the morals and values he’s tried to instill in his children less than 24 hours after son Brooklyn Beckham made scathing allegations against him and wife Victoria Beckham.

During a Tuesday, January 20, appearance on CNBC’s financial program Squawk Box, the 50-year-old soccer legend was asked about the positives and negatives when it comes to today’s children and young adults growing up with social media.

“I have always spoken about social media and the power of social media — for the good and for the bad,” the father of four began.

“The bad we’ve talked about with what kids can access these days, it can be dangerous,” he continued. “But what I have found personally, especially with my kids as well: use it for the right reasons. I’ve been able to use my platform and my following for UNICEF. And it’s been the biggest tool to make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children.”

“I’ve tried to do the same with my children, to educate them,” he said of the four children he shares with the former Spice Girls singer: sons Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 14.

They make mistakes,” David explained. “Children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids.”

“You have to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well,” he concluded.

David’s Tuesday morning appearance comes less than one full day after Brooklyn addressed the long-standing family feud between them. Earlier Tuesday, the athlete was asked directly about the feud, but remained silent, as seen in a clip on X (formerly Twitter).

On Brooklyn’s Instagram Story, the 26-year-old model said bluntly that he did “not want to reconcile with my family,” claiming that they have been creating false narratives in the press, among other shocking revelations.

Brooklyn went on to make harsh allegations against his famous family, including how mom Victoria allegedly hijacked his first dance with wife Nicola Peltz at their 2022 wedding and canceled designing her gown for their special day at the 11th hour.

He also claimed that his parents tried to “bribe” him into “signing away the rights” to his name and said that he felt his wife has been constantly ostracized from the family throughout their relationship.

As of publication, Victoria has not publicly addressed the drama.
