Coast Guard Detains 9 Suspected Migrants On Vessel Offshore California
The U.S. Coast Guard detained nine suspected migrants found on a vessel offshore California on Saturday.
The Coast Guard said crews were conducting a boating safety patrol in Mission Bay Saturday when they spotted a 22-foot Seaswirl vessel entering Mission Bay at around 3:45 p.m.
The crew of a 45-foot response boat boarded the suspected smuggling vessel and identified nine suspected migrants.
The Seaswirl vessel was escorted to a lifeguard dock in Mission Bay. All nine suspected migrants were transferred to U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Imperial Beach Border Patrol Station for further processing.
