New details are emerging after Britney Spears’ DUI arrest, and it’s reported that the pop star has been hanging out with “known drug dealers.”
“She’s been hanging around some really shady characters,” a source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack on Thursday, March 5. “Britney isn’t surrounded by people who are protecting her. She’s trusting the wrong people.”
The source added that the “situation is spiraling fast” and that “everyone” around the “Toxic” singer, 44, is “worried.”
Spears was arrested on Wednesday, March 4, in Ventura, California, and multiple outlets reported that an unknown substance was found inside her car.
“This could become much bigger than a DUI,” a second source told Naughty But Nice. “Right now investigators are waiting to find out exactly what the substance is.”
California Highway Patrol told TMZ that a black BMW 430i was reported for speeding and driving erratically. When it was pulled over at Westlake Boulevard in Thousand Oaks, the officer identified the driver as Spears.

According to CHP, Spears “showed signs of impairment” and took part in several field sobriety tests. She was later arrested for “driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol” and booked into the Ventura County Main Jail.
She was released around 6 a.m. the following morning.
“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life,” a rep for Spears told the National Enquirer. “Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
“Her boys are going to be spending time with her,” the rep added of Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19, who she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline. “Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”
