After Britney Spears was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence on Wednesday, March 4, she was said to be very emotional.
TMZ, who broke the news of the pop star’s latest brush with the law, reported that Spears was allegedly “crying a lot” while being booked in jail, with sources reiterating that she was incredibly emotional while being processed at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
The sources said that Spears, 44, didn’t act out of the ordinary otherwise.
“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life,” a representative for the “Circus” singer tells the National Enquirer. “Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
“Her boys are going to be spending time with her,” the rep adds of sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

“Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being,” the rep concludes.
The mother of two was transported to the hospital early Thursday morning to have her blood drawn after being pulled over, TMZ also reported.
Spears — who experienced a public breakdown nearly two decades ago during which her erratic behavior, including shaving her head, made headlines — has sparked concern in recent days with her erratic Instagram posts.
She was placed under a controversial conservatorship in 2008, which eventually led to the #FreeBritney movement.
In 2021, the conservatorship was dissolved after she publicly testified against her family, including her father Jamie Spears, and management for maltreatment.
