Bindi Irwin’s Marriage Strained by Tension Between Hubby Chandler Powell and Brother Robert (Exclusive)

Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary this March — but an insider reveals the duo’s marriage is experiencing growing pains amid escalating tension between Robert Irwin and his brother-in-law.

“Chandler feels like Robert has turned his back on Australia Zoo,” the insider spills to the National Enquirer. “While Robert is out there chasing fame, Chandler is working non-stop and putting in blood, sweat and tears to keep the Irwin family legacy alive. He’s exhausted.”

Since winning Dancing with the Stars in November — a gig that had him living in the United States for close to three months — the 22-year-old conservationist announced on Instagram that he’d be returning to host Australia’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, which premieres on January 18.

He’s also set to rejoin the DWTS cast during select dates of the show’s live tour across America.

“Robert says he’s doing all of this for the family — not turning his back on them,” shares the insider. “Chandler isn’t buying it, though. He’s accusing Robert of going totally Hollywood.”

The growing disagreement has put pressure on Powell’s wife, notes the insider.

“Bindi is really struggling,” says the insider. “She adores them both and hates being caught in the middle.”

Much to her 29-year-old husband’s chagrin, alleges the insider, the Return to Nim’s Island alum, 27, has a habit of siding with her sibling-turned-fellow Mirrorball Trophy winner.

“Bindi is very protective of her brother,” explains the insider. “Now it’s affecting their marriage.”
