Barron Trump Trolled After Mom Melania Says She Needs to ‘Be There’ for Him ‘Nonstop’ at Age 19

Melania Trump is opening up about parenting—and her son Barron Trump is facing some backlash as a result.

While promoting her new documentary, Melania, the first lady, 55, appeared on Fox Business, where she was interviewed by Maria Bartiromo at Trump Tower in New York City. When asked about balancing family life and being the first lady, she replied, “It’s very important. You need to be there for a child nonstop, especially when they need you. Especially at that age that Barron is.”

Her words sparked a deluge of comments online from people questioning why the 19-year-old college student, who transferred from New York University’s Manhattan campus to the school’s Washington DC branch last year, still needs so much parental supervision.

“He’s 19 and has been completely spoiled his entire life. Of course, he’s unprepared for the real world. He’ll always be,” wrote one X user, per The Blast.

“If you’re parenting your adult kid ‘nonstop’ – you probably sucked at the job the first 18 years…,” commented another.

“The 19yr old child can drive, vote, join the military, live on his own in college or abroad, no longer needs mommy’s support when getting a health checkup, some his age are sexually active, work a full time job—but in their entitlement world Barron’s a child who needs his mommy,” wrote a third.

Melania went on to praise her only son with husband Donald Trump in the interview, saying, “He’s an incredible young man. We are very proud of him. Second year in Stern School of Business. And he loves it. And this time it is very different because he is 19 years old and first time he was 10 years old. He understands politics. He gives advice to his father. We talk about it. So very different.”
