Two chocolates that claim to boost a guy’s ability between the sheets have been pulled from the market after it was found they contain “undeclared” and potentially lethal drugs.
California company Gear Isle has voluntarily recalled its Gold Lion Aphrodisiac Chocolate Male Enhancement Sachet and ilum Sex Chocolate Male Sexual Enhancement Booster, according to a release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The Gold Lion packaging claims to “make lovemaking more desirable, exciting and pleasurable,” while ilum’s label teases “sex n’ scream.”

But according to the Food and Drug Administration, the chocolates could do a lot worse because they’re spiked with ingredients that can be dangerous for men who take nitrates for cardiac conditions.
“The products have been found to contain undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients sildenafil and tadalafil,” the FDA reports, adding use of the products “may cause a significant drop in blood pressure that may be life-threatening.”

Gear Isle sold the chocolates nationwide on its website as dietary supplements.
Sildenafil (Viagra) and tadalafil (Cialis) are phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors widely used to treat erectile dysfunction by increasing blood flow to the penis when aroused, according to the Urologic Surgeons of Washington.
However, the drugs also have side effects including headaches, indigestion and nasal congestion.
Gear Isle reportedly hasn’t received any claims of medical issues with either chocolate as of March 31, but is asking customers to stop using them and promises to give refunds for returned products.
Meanwhile, the FDA’s announcement warns: “Consumers should contact their physician or healthcare provider if they have experienced any problems that may be related to taking or using this drug product.”
