Ex-Border Patrol Official Greg Bovino Calls Out Susie Wiles for Trying to ‘Water Down’ Mass Deportations

A former top immigration enforcement official is taking direct aim at the White House, accusing a key member of President Donald Trump‘s inner circle of undermining the administration’s signature immigration agenda.

Greg Bovino, the former commander-at-large of U.S. Border Patrol, attended the Remigration Summit in Porto, Portugal, on Sunday, where he unleashed sharp criticism of Trump’s team. At the far-right convention, Bovino praised Trump but argued the president was receiving poor counsel from those closest to him. He then took his grievances directly to social media, tagging White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles in a post on X.

“Over the past year remigration did occur,” Bovino, 56, said in the video he shared Saturday, May 30, on social media. “There’s still a hundred million illegal aliens in the United States so they’ve got a long way to go so I think they need to pick that pace up there in the United States very rapidly so they can achieve that goal.”

When questioned on his figures, Bovino said, “Most of the research institutes have had that same figure for forty or fifty years. In the 1970s it was 12 to 20 million in 2006 20 million was about as high as you could get. But we didn’t see that occurring but on the border and in the interior of the United States I think it’s woefully short a lot of those – say Pew research for instance – think they’re very politically driven and you’re not getting an accurate number.’

“Trump’s team says immigration is his top issue according to the polls,” Bovino wrote on X. “So why is Susie Wiles pushing to dial it back and water down mass deportations? You don’t win by running away from your strongest issue. Mass deportations are the solution to perpetual victory!”

In the video, Bovino also directed criticism at Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, the ex-Oklahoma senator who replaced Kristi Noem in April, taking a pointed jab at his background.

“Mullin’s a great guy, great plumber, no doubt about that; he could probably fix a leaky faucet,” Bovino said “But a hundred million illegal aliens is not a leaky faucet.”
