Acquitted Murder Suspect Amanda Knox Is Launching a Career in Comedy: ‘I’m Not at All Intimidated’

Acquitted murder suspect Amanda Knox has used her notoriety to launch a stand-up comedy career.

Knox, 38, revealed her hidden talent during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, sharing that she’s “working currently on a one-woman show.”

“I’ve been blessed with really lovely friendships in the comedy community, particularly with female comedians who recognize my sense of humor,” she told the outlet in an interview published on Thursday, January 22. “I do stand-up comedy here at home [in Seattle].”

Knox — who has opened for Nikki Glaser — explained that she’s only been working on a career in stand-up comedy for two years, having performed her one-woman show twice in 2025, as she continues “workshopping and developing” it.

Knox’s husband, Christopher Robinson, recalled Glaser inviting Knox to open for her “in front of 3,000 people” during a show in Seattle.

“And that was like, I don’t know, the eighth time Amanda had ever [done stand-up]?” he told THR.

“It was so fun!” Knox said. “I gotta say, I’m not at all intimidated. I think that finding the ability to laugh at the bad things that have happened to you and find the absurdity in the human condition — and I really love how comedy allows me to feel connected to other people.”

“It’s a way of turning the temperature down a little bit and making fun of myself,” she added. “I just, I really enjoy it. And so I’ve been just quietly going about my comedic ways.”

Knox was accused of the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher while studying abroad in Perugia, Italy, in 2007. The highly-publicized court case lasted years before she was ultimately acquitted in 2015.
