Zach Bryan is speaking out about the backlash over his unreleased song, “Bad News” — which has been interpreted as a critique of ongoing Immigration and Customs Enforcement Raids.

The country star, 29, shared a clip of the track — featuring the lyrics, “ICE is gonna come bust down your door / Try to build a house, no one builds no more, well I got a telephone / Kids are all scared and all alone” — on Instagram on Friday, October 3.

The post, captioned, “the fading of the red white and blue,” sparked outrage among some conservatives and President Donald Trump.

“To see how much s**t [the song] stirred up makes me not only embarrassed but kind of scared,” the the Navy veteran responded in a note on his Instagram Story captioned “pls f**n read this” on Wednesday, October 8, adding that he wrote the song and even posted a clip of it months ago.

“To be clear I’m on neither of these radical sides. This shows you how divisive a narrative can be when shoved down our throats through social media. This song is about how much I love this country and everyone in it more than anything,” the Oklahoman continued, noting that the rest of the song would provide “full context that hits on both sides of the aisle.”

“Everyone using this now as a weapon is only proving how devastatingly divided we all are. We need to find our way back,” the “I Remember Everything” singer wrote.

In a second Instagram Story he added, “I am SO proud to have served in a country where we can all speak freely and converse amongst each other without getting doxxed or accosted on the internet or worse; the violence and heartbreak we’ve faced in the last few months!”
