A woman in Florida is accused of attacking her daughter’s elementary school teacher and the school’s principal when she was not allowed inside the building after dismissal.

According to an arrest affidavit viewed by National Enquirer, Lynesia Dorsey approached a Daytona Beach school to see about retrieving her child’s backpack, which she believed was left inside on Thursday, August 13. However, she was told by the teacher that no parents were allowed inside the school during the first week of school, saying that staff needed to ensure the safety of all students.

Dorsey then began to push her way through the teacher into the front office, per the affidavit. When the teacher stood their ground and didn’t allow her to move forward, Dorsey allegedly began punching the teacher in the face repeatedly. The principal stepped in and grabbed Dorsey from behind to separate her from the teacher, resulting in the principal getting assaulted as well.

Eventually, a school resource officer, with the help of the other two, managed to restrain Dorsey until law enforcement arrived.

According to the affidavit, Dorsey admitted to striking the teacher but said she only did it because he “leaned on her.” However, after reviewing surveillance footage, police confirmed that the teachers’ version of the story was accurate.

The teachers suffered minor injuries. The principal had “several lacerations to the body, but refused medical attention. The teacher suffered bruising to the face and a small laceration.

Meanwhile, Dorsey was arrested and charged with one count of battery on a school board employee. She was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on September 8.
