Gabriela Martins Santos de Moura, a wellness influencer, has died one day after celebrating her eighth wedding anniversary. She was 31 years old.
According to a report from G1 published on Thursday, February 26, Moura died after undergoing an in vitro fertilization procedure at a private clinic in São Paulo eight days prior.
Moura’s cousin Nahiza Monteles told the outlet that a complication occurred during the procedure that led to Moura going into cardiorespiratory arrest. Moura was then transferred to a local hospital where she died on Tuesday, February 24.
“My cousin wasn’t having plastic surgery, she wasn’t having a cosmetic procedure, she was trying to create a life,” Monteles said in a statement shared to social media, per G1. “The in vitro fertilization was performed at a very reputable clinic here. It wasn’t just anywhere, for those who are speculating.”

Moura focused on “positive psychology” as an influencer and boasted over 7,000 followers on Instagram. Several people have offered their condolences and written tributes to Moura on social media, including her family members.
“Today the world feels a little quieter. We lost a great friend, godmother, therapist, family. Anyone who knew Gabi knows she lived everything intensely,” Enilson Campelo de Carvalho wrote in a message translated from Portuguese to English. “They say life is short, but Gabi proved that life can be immense if we have the courage to chase our dreams. She used to say she was going to do something and then she did it. Nothing was left for later.”
