As the National Enquirer previously reported, Todd was recovered unresponsive about 10 minutes after going overboard from the vessel Aleutian Lady. Despite life-saving efforts by the crew, he could not be revived. The U.S. Coast Guard confirmed it is investigating the incident as a marine casualty.
In a March 2 Facebook post, Captain Rick Shelford earlier called the loss “the most tragic day in the history of the Aleutian Lady,” saying Todd quickly became family aboard the boat.
A GoFundMe launched to support Todd’s three young sons has raised over $40,000.
